Big Big Train: in arrivo il nuovo album “Woodcut”, anticipato dal singolo “The Artist” – Italian/Engish Version

I Big Big Train annunciano l’uscita di Woodcut, il loro primo album concept narrativo, anticipato dal debut single The Artist. Il gruppo vincitore di un Award come Migliore Progressive Rock band internazionale, tornano quindi con Woodcut via InsideOutMusic, la cui pubblicazione è prevista per il prossimo 6 febbraio. Woodcut è il primo cd dei Big Big Train a presentare uno stile concettuale con una continuità narrativa. Nei pezzi della tracklist si esplora il tema della creatività, del sacrificio e della sottile linea che divide l’ispirazione dalla pazzia.

La band recentemente ha dato un piccolo assaggio del nuovo album con il lancio di un breve passaggio di musica, che è stato poi rivelato essere il pezzo introduttivo del disco Inkwell Black. E’ stato anche reso noto che il primo singolo del cd si intitola The Artist, ed è accompagnato da un eccezionale videoclip realizzato da Crystal Spotlight.

Le dichiarazioni di Gregory Spawton e Alberto Bravin

Il bassista Gregory Spawton ha rilasciato delle dichiarazioni in merito al nuovo lavoro della sua band. “Woodcut racconta la storia di un personaggio che noi chiamiamo The Artist”, ha dichiarato, “in lotta con la propria creatività e con la propria vita. Un giorno riesce a realizzare un’incisione che giudica essere bellissima e diversa da tutto il resto. Forse è un sogno o forse è la realtà ma lui si ritrova a camminare all’interno di una scena della sua xilografia e in un mondo alternativo”.

In Woodcut c’è un enorme contributo da parte di tutti e sette i membri della formazione, con il frontman Alberto Bravin nei panni di leader della produzione. “Questa volta ci troviamo di fronte ad un nuovo manifesto da parte della band”, ha commentato Bravin. “Woodcut rappresenta un passo in avanti enorme per noi”.
Con più di 400 tracks di musica registrate individualmente sottoposte ad edit, streamline e pezzi messi insieme, poi c’è anche da considerare una connettività tra lo storyline dell’album e le sue sezioni tematiche strumentali. Si è trattato di un compito da svolgere avente proporzioni gigantesche.

Disponibile in versione limitata CD + Blu-ray Edition, include dettagliate note di copertina e Dolby Atmos & 5.1 Surround Sound mix a cura di Shawn Dealey degli Sweetwater Studios. Big Big Train: the release of new album “Woodcut”

Big Big Train, the award-winning, international progressive rock band, will issue their 16th studio album titled ‘Woodcut’ via InsideOutMusic on 6th February 2026. ‘Woodcut’ marks the group’s first-ever full-length conceptual piece, a continuous narrative exploring creativity, sacrifice and the thin line between inspiration and madness.

The band recently teased the new record with the launch of a short passage of music, which can now be revealed as the album’s introductory piece ‘Inkwell Black’. Today they are also pleased to reveal the first single from the album, ‘The Artist’, which is accompanied by a stunning video created by Crystal Spotlight.

Gregory Spawton and Alberto Bravin talk about Woodcut

Bassist Gregory Spawton comments: “Woodcut tells the story of a character we call The Artist, who is struggling with his creativity and with life. One day he is able to fashion a woodcut which he considers to be beautiful and different. Maybe it’s a dream or maybe it’s real life, but he finds himself stepping into the woodcut scene and into an alternative world.”

‘Woodcut’ sees all seven band members making stunning contributions, with frontman Alberto Bravin taking the lead as producer: “This time it’s kind of a new statement for the band. ‘Woodcut’ is a big step forward for us,” Bravin comments. With more than 400 individual recorded tracks of music to edit, streamline and piece together, and also with the connectivity of the album’s storyline and its themed instrumental sections to consider, this was a task of gargantuan proportions.
