Instant Opera sceglie la grandiosità di Aida per celebrare dieci anni di attività, portando Verdi negli spazi suggestivi dello storico Landmark Arts Centre di Teddington.

Il 10 e 11 ottobre 2026, tre rappresentazioni riuniranno orchestra, coro e due cast internazionali, alternati nelle recite per interpretare i grandi personaggi del capolavoro verdiano.

L’appuntamento assume un significato particolare nell’anno del centoventicinquesimo anniversario della morte di Giuseppe Verdi, trasformando questa produzione in un omaggio alla sua straordinaria eredità artistica.

Sul podio il direttore britannico Kelvin Lim

Sul podio salirà il direttore britannico Kelvin Lim, mentre Ian Henderson curerà la regia di uno spettacolo che rappresenta il progetto più ambizioso finora affrontato dalla compagnia.

Un cast internazionale al centro della produzione

Più che affidarsi esclusivamente alla forza dei due protagonisti, questa Aida punta sulla dimensione corale dell’opera, valorizzando il confronto fra differenti personalità vocali e interpretative.

Nel ruolo di Aida, Kaylee Norris sarà protagonista sabato 10 ottobre alle 13:00 e domenica 11 alle 17:00, mentre Corinne Hart canterà sabato alle 19:00.

Radamès sarà affidato al tenore indiano Anando Mukerjee sabato alle 13:00 e domenica alle 17:00, mentre Antonio Signorello interpreterà il ruolo nella recita serale del sabato.

Mukerjee porta nella produzione un percorso internazionale sviluppato fra Europa, India e Stati Uniti, oltre alla formazione ricevuta dal leggendario tenore svedese Nicolai Gedda per sette anni.

L’australiano Jeffrey Black porta con sé una significativa carriera internazionale, sviluppata attraverso importanti teatri e compagnie operistiche, dal Covent Garden al Metropolitan e alla Glyndebourne Festival Opera.

Andrew Mayor vanta ugualmente una consolidata esperienza internazionale, comprendente Royal Opera House, Scottish Opera e produzioni europee, oltre ad avere già interpretato Amonasro per Scottish Opera.

Altrettanto centrale è Amneris, figura complessa nella quale autorità, gelosia e vulnerabilità convivono, affidata a Hannah Aurora Kramer ed Elora Rose Ledger nelle diverse rappresentazioni.

Hannah Aurora Kramer interpreterà Amneris sabato alle 13:00 e domenica alle 17:00, mentre Elora Rose Ledger sarà Amneris nella rappresentazione serale di sabato alle 19:00.

La presenza di Elora Rose Ledger aggiunge un ulteriore accento internazionale: la mezzosoprano australiana ha lavorato fra Australia, Nuova Zelanda, Stati Uniti, Italia e Regno Unito.

La componente grave dell’architettura vocale verdiana trova quindi spazio nel sacerdote Ramfis, affidato ai bassi Dante Roberto Muro e David Banbury nelle tre rappresentazioni previste.

Dante Roberto Muro porta nel ruolo una carriera lirica di lungo corso, maturata attraverso decenni di esperienza scenica e un repertorio costruito attorno alla vocalità di basso, specialmente in ambito verdiano.

In questa occasione sarà Ramfis nelle recite di sabato sera alle 19:00 e domenica pomeriggio alle 17:00, figura cardinale dell’autorità religiosa e politica del dramma.

David Banbury assumerà invece il ruolo di Ramfis nella rappresentazione di sabato alle 13:00, completando una distribuzione attenta alle voci gravi, fondamentali nell’equilibrio musicale e teatrale verdiano.

Anche il ruolo del Re d’Egitto sarà alternato: Chris Swithinbank lo interpreterà sabato alle 13:00, mentre Tobias Odenwald sarà il Re sabato alle 19:00 e domenica alle 17:00.

La Sacerdotessa sarà affidata ad Arina Koroletska nella recita di sabato alle 13:00, a Claudia Anghel sabato alle 19:00 e a Egle Nausedaite domenica alle 17:00.

Across 10 and 11 October 2026, three performances will unite orchestra, chorus and two international casts, alternating across Verdi’s principal and supporting roles throughout the production.

The occasion carries particular significance during the 125th anniversary year of Giuseppe Verdi’s death, transforming this ambitious production into a celebration of his enduring artistic legacy.

An international ensemble at the heart of Aida

Rather than relying exclusively upon its central couple, this Aida emphasises opera’s ensemble dimension, bringing together contrasting voices, backgrounds and personalities throughout Verdi’s monumental dramatic architecture.

The title role will be sung by Kaylee Norris on Saturday 10 October at 1pm and Sunday 11 at 5pm, with Corinne Hart appearing Saturday at 7pm.

The darker foundations of Verdi’s vocal architecture emerge through Ramfis, with basses Dante Roberto Muro and David Banbury alternating as the formidable high priest across the performances.

Dante Roberto Muro brings to the role a long operatic career, shaped by decades of stage experience and a repertoire developed around the distinctive qualities of the bass voice, particularly in Verdi’s operas.

On this occasion, he will perform Ramfis on Saturday evening at 7pm and Sunday afternoon at 5pm, embodying a central figure of religious and political authority within the drama.

David Banbury assumes Ramfis for Saturday’s 1pm opening performance, completing a casting structure giving Verdi’s lower voices their essential place within the opera’s musical and theatrical architecture.

From the King to the supporting roles

The King of Egypt will be sung by Chris Swithinbank on Saturday at 1pm, while Tobias Odenwald assumes the role Saturday at 7pm and Sunday at 5pm.

The High Priestess will be sung by Arina Koroletska on Saturday at 1pm, Claudia Anghel at 7pm and Egle Nausedaite on Sunday at 5pm.
