RPWL: 20 anni di “World Through My Eyes – Un anniversario spettacolare (It/Eng Version)

Gli RPWL, la più famosa ed acclamata band tedesca di art rock, celebra i 20 anni dalla pubblicazione dell’album “World Through My Eyes”. Non soltanto un disco che mescola art rock a prog rock con profonda intensità mettendo in luce il talento creativo dei membri del gruppo, ma un pezzo forte del loro repertorio. Un punto focale della storia di questo gruppo originario di Freising, Bavaria, che negli anni ha saputo mettere insieme un’appassionata fanbase e conquistarsi una grande reputazione. 25 anni di successi distribuiti tra 11 album da studio e 9 live.

Lavori che danno perfettamente l’idea del talento dei componenti del gruppo, ovvero Yogi Lang, vocale & keyboards,  Kalle Wallner, chitarre & vocale, Markus Grützner, basso & bass pedals, Marc Turiaux, batteria. Talento unito a virtuosismo e grinta, determinazione e creatività artistica.

Doti apprezzate dai loro sostenitori che hanno reagito con enorme entusiasmo agli scorsi concerti della band per l’anniversario di “World Through My Eyes” partiti nell’ottobre 2025 e costellati da molti mementi trionfanti. I numeri parlano chiaro con le date che hanno registrato quasi ovunque il sold out. Gli RPWL hanno suonato di fronte ad un’audience che per lo più li segue da anni e che ha apprezzato la carica e l’enfasi con la quale i musicisti hanno riproposto sul palcoscenico i loro successi. Esecuzioni piene di impeto, rese possibili dalla grande qualità interpretativa di ogni membro della formazione, tra scroscianti applausi e l’emozione tangibile di tutto il pubblico presente.

Un vero capolavoro di istinto e improvvisazione, di melodia e di puro rock da ascoltare a tutto volume. L’album è disponibile nelle versioni Double vinyl (solo canzoni da “World Through My Eyes) Gatefold, 140g ognuno. Double CD (full concert), più digibook, gatefold e booklet. In più c’è lo streaming possibile su tutte le piattaforme. Per rendersi conto che, come dice il comunicato ufficiale del disco: “ancora una volta gli RPWL hanno suonato dritto al cuore dei loro ammiratori”.

Inutile dire che “World Through My Eyes” è diventato uno dei più genuini classici degli RPWL. I brani del disco hanno trovato la loro giusta interpretazione durante i concerti per l’anniversario, avvalendosi della formazione a sette membri con la quale la band si è esibita. Hanno di certo fatto la loro parte i due memo ri fondatori, Yogi e Kalle che tra virtuosismi, precisione ed energia sono riusciti a coinvolgere il pubblico fino a farlo commuovere. Segno che la buona musica riesce ancora a trasmettere tante emozioni

Per non parlare della sezione ritmica, solida e coinvolgente, con la compattezza del sud creato dal batterista Marc Turiaux e dal bassista Markus Grützneron, veri cuori pulsanti degli RPWL. Capaci in due di creare uno straordinario groove con il ritmo giusto per ogni pezzo e una grinta unica. Non vanno poi dimenticati Butsch Keyshas, che dal 2023 supporta il lavoro di Yoga Land alle keyboards nonché le brillanti coriste Caroline von Brünkenand e Carmen Tannichhave che ormai da anni rappresentano la spalla vocale del gruppo regalando ad ogni brano quel qualcosa in più che le loro voci sanno donare. Ne sono particolari conferme pezzi come “Everything Was Not Enough”, “Day On My Pillow” e “3 Lights” dove l’interplay tra le due coriste e i membri del gruppo evidente. La loro sintonia è evidente, ad esempio, in 3 Lights, culminante negli incredibili assolo di Butsch Keys e Kalle Wallner. 

Di sicuro ha creato grande atmosfera l’ormai mitica “Roses”, che nella versione originale venne cantata dall’ex Genesix Ray Wilson. Il brano è riuscito a far letteralmente scatenate l’audience al WDR Rockpalast nel 2025 confermando la sua potenza che anche con il passare degli anni è rimasta intatta. Durante I concerti gli RPWL hanno eseguito una setlist con tutti i brani di “World Through My eyes” con l’aggiunta della bonus track “New Stars Are Born” che ha avuto davvero un bell’effetto su tutti i presenti. In un solo album “World Through My Eyes” ha il potere di catturare tutti gli elementi base che hanno fatto crescere negli anni la reputazione della band.

Parliamo di talento musicale, ma anche di creatività artistica, di grande originalità e capacità di produrre assoli alternati a momenti di improvvisazione. La band, poi, ha sempre dimostrato la capacità di saper creare pezzi che coinvolgono, che non “appesantiscono” ma che allo stesso tempo hanno un evidente valore tecnico. Prova della maestria di tutti i membri degli RPWL e dell’esperienza che hanno saputo maturare. Con la destrezza nel saper filtrare le varie ispirazioni con il loro tocco unico e personale che gli ha dato la possibilità di creare brani che hanno fatto la storia della band. Segno che quando la musica è vera ed è prova di talento, riesce ancora a trasmettere grandi emozioni.

In 2025, RPWL celebrated the 20th anniversary of their masterpiece “World Through My Eyes”, emphatically cementing their reputation as Germany’s most successful art rock band. This album is a shining milestone in the band’s more than 25-year history of success, hailing from Freising, Bavaria! With an impressive 11 studio albums and 9 live albums, RPWL repeatedly showcase their creative power and boundless passion for exceptional music. The anniversary was the perfect occasion to honour this remarkable journey with an enthusiastic two-and-a-half-week tour and numerous acclaimed festival appearances.The anniversary tourin October 2025 became a triumphant highlight: many concerts were completely sold out, and the professional recording of this tour now allows every fan to relive the magical atmosphere of these shows time and again.

Whether as a double vinyl, double CD, or via streaming –the full setlist of the tour is available to all music lovers at any time, inviting everyone to immerse themselves in the unique energy of RPWL’s concerts. Many songs from “World Through My Eyes” have now become genuine RPWLclassics –and the current seven-piece line-up showed itself at its very best during the anniversary tour: perfectly rehearsed, virtuosic and bursting with incomparable joy of playing! The sound reached new heights, thrilling the audience with rousing dynamism and sonic brilliance. 

The two remaining founding members, Yogi Lang (vocals and keyboards) and Kalle Wallner (guitar), have stamped their mark on the band for decades with their unique compositions, providing unmistakable goosebump moments.The rhythm section, with Marc Turiauxon drums and Markus Grützneron bass, forms the band’s pulsating heart. Their flawless interplay delivers an irresistible groove that gets fans out of their seats at every concert. Since 2023, Butsch Keyshas enhanced the band, brilliantly supporting Yogi Lang on keyboards. The brilliant voices of Carolinevon Brünkenand Carmen Tannichhave been adding special highlights for several years. In songs like “Everything Was Not Enough”, “Day On My Pillow” and “3 Lights” they provide emotional highs and prove their exceptional vocal talent. Especially “3 Lights” reveals an incredible dynamic live, culminating in breathtaking solos from Butsch Keys and Kalle Wallner –a real treat for every music fan!

Another highlight, of course, was the goosebump-inducing song “Roses”, which, in its original version featuring Ray Wilson(ex-Genesis), caused a sensation at WDR Rockpalastback in 2005. During the anniversary tour, the title track “World Through My Eyes” also received its own energetic live interpretation, leaving audiences in awe and earning rapturous applause.The entire album was performed in the first part of the concerts, and as the crowning finale of the regular set, the bonus track “New Stars Are Born” delighted the crowd.
