The curiosity and reaction among Phillips’ followers regarding the matter were such that the virtuoso British musician decided to issue an official statement explaining the reasons for his absence.

Various dates had initially been proposed for filming the video interview, and some suited the schedule of Ant, who had happily agreed to take part on those days. However, given everyone’s individual schedules, the logistics of bringing Peter, Tony, Mike, and Ant together at Air Studios on the same day proved complicated. Consequently, the dates originally proposed had to be changed more than once. Ant had already committed to attending the funeral of a long-time friend, David Carpenter, on April 14, 2026—which, unfortunately, turned out to be the only day Peter Gabriel had available for the filming. “Unfortunately, this meant Ant was unable to take part in the lip-sync performance and the interview.” It is worth noting that this deluxe edition features tracks mixed by Stephen W.
